Billed as the American Rescue Plan, the package augments many of Congress’s historic $3 trillion relief bill from March and the $900 billion legislation from December, scaled back to garner support from Senate Republicans.
President-elect Joe Biden unveiled key pars of a $1.9 trillion proposal. These essential parts include bigger stimulus checks, more aid for the unemployed, the hungry, those facing eviction, and additional support for small businesses.
Now that Democrats control both chambers and the White House, Biden is pushing for the significant steps he says are needed to address immediate needs and control the pandemic. He also plans to lay out an economic recovery plan in the coming weeks to create jobs and combat the climate crisis.

YOUR MORNING MARKET UPDATE
|
This morning, Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 futures slipped 0.4%, while Nasdaq 100 futures slid 0.3%.
The losses came amid news about Joe Biden’s new $1.9 trillion stimulus package, which he has called “the American Rescue Plan,” and which he shared yesterday evening.
His framework would include $1,400 checks for most Americans, weekly unemployment insurance payments of $400 through the fall, and billions of dollars in state and local government relief.
“There is real pain overwhelming the real economy,” he said. “The one where people rely on paychecks, not investments, to pay for their bills and their meals and their children’s needs.”

LOOKING FOR MORE PRODUCTIVITY?
|

Hard workers tend to refuse to take breaks when they’re tackling a task. In their minds, breaks slow you down and make you less productive. But science shows that’s not the case at all.
Recent research shows that breaks actually boost your productivity if done correctly. One way to manage your break time is by taking small microbreaks of around two minutes. Step away from your desk and walk around a bit. This allows your mind time to refocus.
Even better, researchers discovered that a quick nap increased productivity significantly. A 20-40 minute midday nap gives your brain more rest than the same amount of deep sleep. So if you can grab some quick shuteye in the middle of the day, do it!

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
|
If you can think it or wonder about it or want to do it, there’s probably an app out there that will help you do it. But, as you might have noticed, since the pandemic hit and the world went into lockdown, the rules of app development have been rewritten.
And they were rewritten at record speeds. Which means that developers have to be in tune with their customer’s wants, needs, fears, and goals and be ready to pivot at the drop of a hat to remain competitive.
And the good (and in some cases, the bad) news is that these same skills will once again come in handy in 2021.
There’s a new normal now – and there’s no going back to the way things used to be.
