Hawaiian Airlines flight makes an emergency landing - here are the details

A Hawaiin Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing on Monday morning. The flight departed from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu at 9:44 a.m. About twenty minutes into the flight, the engines malfunctioned.

Out of an abundance of caution, the crew elected to return the aircraft to Honolulu. The plane landed without incident at 10:26 a.m.

Stock futures were pointing to a positive day ahead for the market. The Dow was up 100 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures were also looking good.

“[The virus] is raging and still no stimulus package?” said the Leuthold Group’s chief investment strategist, Jim Paulsen. “Never mind, with vaccinations already underway, it may be impossible to keep this stock market from rising through the holidays.”
