A 14-year-old girl is injured in a shootout with deputies after running away

BREAKING NEWS BRIEF

A 14-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy escaped a home for troubled kids and broke into a Central Florida house yesterday, officials say.

The teen, who apparently set fire to a previous children’s home she had lived in, is now “fighting for her life” in a local hospital.

According to Mike Chitwood, the Volusia County sheriff, police officers had been searching for the runaways for several hours, with no luck.

That’s when they got the call that a Volusia County home had been broken into at about 7 p.m. The homeowner had said there were guns inside the home.

The two teens started firing at the officers from within the home upon their arrival.

An hour and a half after the cops first received the call, the girl exited the home and continued her shootout with the deputies. She was shot several times.

What else do we know about this story right now?

New York Attorney General wants Kodak CEO to testify about insider trading

The New York Attorney General Letitia James has requested Kodak’s CEO to publicly testify over allegations of insider trading.

The petition claims that Kodak CEO Jim Continena bought shares of the company while in private talks with the White House. The talks centered over a loan that was to help Kodak pivot to meet industry needs and was worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

“As millions of New Yorkers and Americans across this nation lost their jobs and were waiting for unemployment checks, Kodak’s CEO was using insider information to illegally trade company stock,” Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement.

Kodak’s stock advanced nearly 5.5% yesterday. Over the last year shares are up 187%.

So, what does the company have to say for itself?
