Stock futures indicate more losses this morning after Wednesday’s weak session. Yesterday the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.2%, while the S&P 500 slipped 1.2%, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped .8%. The market’s slide was marked by mixed virus news. On one hand Pfizer announced that its vaccine was actually 95% effective, according to its final analysis. But on the other hand, New York City announced that it would shutter its schools because of the virus. Said BNY Investment Management Chief Strategist Alicia Levine: “This is the perfect day that describes what we’re calling the ‘[virus] air pocket.’ We have a linearity issue, which is that you can’t get there from here without going through a lot of bad news and some slowdown in the real economy.”

For instance, WARC highlighted a 650% growth in hand sanitizer sales from the USA’s previous year. Nielsen data indicated that the hand sanitizer market grew from 11% in November 2019 to 53% in February 2020. And those aren’t the only new emerging trends. So, what is happening – and how are companies planning for the “new” future?
