This morning the Dow Jones Industrial average was slated to open at an approximately 160-point loss. The S&P 500 was falling .5%, while the Nasdaq 100 futures jumped slightly.

Even though Amazon launched a pharmacy business that allows Prime members to receive their medications for free, its shares still fell this morning. CVS Health and Walgreens Boots Alliance were also suffering losses–about 6% and 10% lower, respectively.

Meanwhile, shares of Tesla rose over 12%. The increase followed an announcement that it would soon be a part of the S&P 500, beginning next month.

Home Depot, which yesterday released its earnings report, saw its stock fall. Walmart will share its earnings report today.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

Life insurance is considered one of the cornerstones of financial planning by many financial professionals. It is designed to provide financial security to loved ones in the event of your demise.

When you buy a life insurance policy, you exchange premium payments for a death benefit that is given as a lump-sum payment to your beneficiaries.

Generally, there are two types of life insurance policies: term and permanent. Term life insurance offers coverage for a certain amount of time, while permanent life insurance provides coverage for the policyholder’s whole life. Although there are two primary types of coverage, various policies fall under the life insurance umbrella.

To better understand the types of coverage suitable for your goals and needs, here is a breakdown of several types of life insurance and who the policies are best for.

The new year is around the corner, so you might be preparing to start a weight loss and health journey in January. Before you spend a ton of cash on items you think you’ll need to get fit, there’s a list of things to steer clear of.

One of the items on the do not buy list workout clothes. Sure, stylish clothes can be fun, but spending a lot of money on the clothes you’ll work out in really won’t help you get fit. Focus on your health first and meeting your goals before investing in athleticwear. If new clothes are a must, save some cash by limiting your purchases to cheaper options and only a few pieces.

Fancy water bottles are also a no go. You really don’t need a smart water bottle to tell you how much water to drink. A normal water bottle will suffice and will leave you with a little extra cash to invest in other areas of your health journey that will have a better return on your investment.

What other items should you leave on the shelf when starting your health and wellness journey?
