Why did Biden just give Putin a big warning?

President Joe Biden spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone on Friday to issue him a warning.

As it turns out, Biden felt the need to warn Putin about the increase in US ransomware attacks at the hands of Russians. Biden strongly urged Putin to take immediate action to disband criminal groups that are responsible for the attacks, as America has been left reeling over the past few months with disruptions in critical operations and logistics due to the increase in ransomware attacks.

President Biden also issued Putin a firm warning that the US would “take any necessary action to defend its people and its critical infrastructure in the face of this continuing challenge,” according to a release from the White House.

What else did Biden tell Putin during their phone call and how else has the US been impacted by the rise of Russian ransomware attacks?
