The fact that a one-year-old child was alive after spending three nights alone in a forest is nothing short of a miracle. Twenty-two-month-old Lyuda Kuzina had been in a garden with her mother and older sibling in Russia, before they went to a neighbor’s residence. That’s when Lyuda wandered away and became lost.
The rescue mission drew about 500 people who scoured the region for days. Ultimately, the child was found less than three miles from home.
“One of the groups stopped to rest after searching for a long time, and suddenly they heard a faint squeak,” a first responder said. “…Everyone cried – experienced and first time volunteers, local residents, everyone was sobbing.”
How was Lyuda able to survive on her own?
