Last month, Texas House Democrats fled the state in a great flee-ibuster in order to block voting reform bills. The Democrats claimed the voting bills were too restrictive. They flew en-masse to Washington, D.C. where they drew more backlash by the day from both sides of the aisle for fleeing their civic responsibilities.
Despite Republican Gov. Abbott’s best attempts, there will be no arrests once the House Democrats begin to return home. They won a major legal victory on Sunday that ensures their civil disobedience will go basically unpunished.
