How does a 10-foot python surprise these grocery store shoppers?

Grocery store shoppers were in for quite the surprise as they perused the spice aisle in an Australian supermarket.

A 10-foot python had been lurking behind the cardamom and cumin. Eventually, the creature wanted to greet patrons, and one woman found herself face-to-face with the snake.

“Dozens of people must have walked past it,” said Helaina Alati of the unexpected encounter.

She’d been shopping for dinner when the incident occurred.

As luck would have it, Alati was formerly a volunteer snake catcher, and she still had some of her equipment.

“It was chill, and not aggressive at all,” she said of the relocation experience. “It wasn’t in a defensive position. It slithered right into the bag. I’m used to seeing snakes in weird places, but I wouldn’t expect it to be in a Woolworths.”
