In the next two weeks, most of our troops will be withdrawn from Afghanistan after two long decades of war. Depending on your viewpoint, that keyword — “most” — could be a sore point.
Instead of the complete withdrawal Biden would like to take credit for, roughly 650 troops will remain in Afghanistan to provide security for diplomats. In addition, several hundred additional American forces will remain at the Kabul airport, potentially until September, to assist Turkish troops providing security
