Will there be enough Democratic voters to save California Governor Gavin Newsom?

Gavin Newsom and the California Democratic Party are on edge as recent poll numbers show the current California Governor could lose the special recall election slated for September 14.

A surge of Republican enthusiasm in California has seemingly compelled many conservatives to hit the polls in September in an attempt to oust Newsom from office. While GOP numbers are trending upward, Newsom is left to try to persuade Democratic voters to take the recall election seriously and ensure they show him support through their vote.

There are more than enough Democratic voters in California to help Newsom win, but recent surveys indicate many of them are growing apathetic toward the recall election. Though the majority of voters in California claim they oppose Newsom’s recall, fear is setting in among Democratic leaders that Newsom could lose the election simply due to voter apathy.

So, do experts think Newsom will be able to persuade enough Democratic voters to save him?
