Florida police are investigating the mysterious deaths of two pre-teens, who were found on the same day, in the same canal, authorities say.
The first caller to the Lauderdale police department dialed in around noon on Tuesday to report a floating body in the canal. The second call came in closer to 9 p.m., regarding another dead body not far from the first one.
According to authorities, no one has reported them missing, and investigators have not yet determined how the girls knew one another or where they were from.
The cause of their deaths also remains a mystery, as well, an official said.
