Trump pressured the Department of Justice to declare the 2020 election as corrupt

According to new information released Friday, Donald Trump pressured acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen to declare the 2020 election as corrupt.

Trump’s plan was reportedly to have the Department of Justice officially declare an invalid election, in hopes that Republican congress members could overturn the results. During a call with Rosen and deputy attorney general Richard Donoghue, Trump reportedly kept claiming the results were illegal, though the Department of Justice was unable to find any evidence of illegal activity or widespread voter fraud.

According to Donoghue’s notes from the call, Trump took things a step further and asked that the election results be left to him and Republican members of Congress.

“Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen,” Trump reportedly said on the call.

What else does Donoghue’s recollection of his call with Trump reveal about the election night in 2020?
