Severe flooding in the Southwestern US leaves two dead

Two people have died from flooding caused by monsoon-type rains in the Southwestern US. A young girl died from injuries sustained in the collapse of a basement wall at her family’s Texas home. Her 65-year-old grandmother was also killed in the basement’s collapse.

Loop 375, the only direct link between northeast El Paso and the communities west of the Franklin Mountains, remained closed by a rockslide.
