A Florida man’s burning desire for Bath & Body Works candles led him to steal a bag full of them over the weekend. He then terrorized dozens of store patrons with bear mace repellent as he attempted his escape.
“This is an only-in-Miami story,” said a spokesperson for the Doral Police. “You can’t make this up.”
The incident occurred in Doral, which is a suburban area not far from Miami.
According to officials, of the 35 people impacted by the candle thief’s mace, some had to receive hospital treatment. Part of the mall was closed down over the weekend as a result of the situation.
