Coca-Cola's summer personalization campaign really missed the mark

Coca-Cola, hoping to capitalize on its previously popular campaign of name personalization, added a new make your own label promotion. Customers can write short messages on custom Coke bottles.

Although Coca-Cola tried to block some slurs and trademarks, social media users were quick to discover that the company’s restrictions were hardly comprehensive — and in some cases blocked inoffensive terms.

Coke continues to try to be “woke,” but seems to keep missing the mark.

You’d think Coca-Cola would be a bit more conscientious about these things considering its “try to be less white” training it provided earlier this year.
