A pet food company is accused of selling tainted pet food that has reportedly resulted in more than 130 dog deaths in the United States. The food is also thought to have severely sickened another 220 dogs.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed that an inspection of the dog food company in question “revealed evidence of significant violations” of food and safety regulations. High levels of aflatoxin, a poisonous substance to pets, was found in the factory and food.
The FDA also accused the company of having inadequate food safety programs to prevent situations such as this. So, which pet food company is the source of the tainted pet food?
