BREAKING NEWS BRIEF

Google has delayed the return to the office

Google has delayed its plan for employees to return to the office. The original date of July 2021 has been moved to September of the same year. Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a staff memo.

In the email, Pichai explained the company would be testing out a “flexible work week” that entails working at least three days a week in the office and the rest of the week at home. It is believed that this flexible work model will lead to greater productivity, collaboration, and well-being.

Google isn’t the only tech company to contest the traditional workplace.

YOUR MORNING MARKET UPDATE

The markets were set for gains this morning, with Dow futures pointing toward a 155-point increase, and the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures also climbing.

Yesterday evening, lawmakers unveiled their newest fiscal stimulus proposal, separating the controversial issues into their own $160 billion bill. There is an additional $748 billion bill that contains measures everyone can agree on.

“With the continued rising cases and mass vaccinations still a ways out, we could see some further weakness in jobs and even a flattening where we’re not even adding jobs at all…that’s absolutely a possibility for this next jobs report,” one economist said of the situation.

The forward movement on the stimulus front comes as more than 300,000 Americans have lost their lives to the virus.

GOAL SETTING GUIDANCE

We all have lofty goals and dreams that we would love to one day accomplish, but very few of us actually take the time to think about the achievable goals on our list.

A goal doesn’t have to be complex to be worthy of your efforts. In fact, research shows that overly complicated plans can mute your goal-setting efforts. If it takes too much work to make something happen, the attempt could make you resent every dreaming it up in the first place.

Keep your goals achievable and straightforward. Anything beyond that is a waste of your skills and abilities! Even the most motivated person can become overwhelmed by a task that’s too demanding to complete.

More records were set when the film was first aired on television in two parts in late 1976, and controversy arose when it was restored and released theatrically in 1998. In total, it has been re-released eight times, has been shown many times on television since the 1970s, and remains a best-seller on home video (all versions).

Today, it’s been making headlines for the new “woke” disclaimers some streaming outlets have slapped on the film.
