BREAKING NEWS BRIEF
Here’s why five White House staffers lost their jobs
Five White House staffers have been fired because of their past use of drugs, including marijuana. The White House has said there could be multiple factors for dismissals, including hard drug use. The marijuana policy has become less stringent under the Biden administration, allowing for up to 15 past uses in a year among White House staffers.
Marijuana has become a delicate issue for President Biden’s administration as fifteen states and Washington D.C. allow for recreational uses of the drug. The administration has tried not to automatically penalize potential staffers for legal behavior in their communities by developing a more flexible policy. Security and suitability reviews have been an issue for past administrations.

Are China and Russia joining hands against the US?
U.S. Southern Command chief Naval Admiral Craig Faller has warned that China and Russia appear to be working together against the United State’s interests across the region.
He stated that China has been looking for loans for political leverage, vaccine diplomacy that undermines sovereignty, state surveillance I.T., and a serious exploitation of resources.
In regards to Russia, he explained that the country has continually undermined U.S. interest globally.
Faller said that one of the top SOUTHCOM priorities is identifying how Washington’s top two rivals are actually pooling their resources.

A flying roof triggered an explosion in Alabama
More than two dozen tornadoes were reported across the deep south as severe storms swept through this past week.
And Mother Nature’s wrath was on full display in Moundville, Alabama Wednesday with powerful winds.
A tower cam on the city hall building captured the dramatic moment a roof was blown off a building sending it crashing into another building causing a large explosion.
This is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Check it out for yourself.

Twitter wants your opinion on dealing with those in high-level positions
Twitter is seeking public input on whether world leaders should be subject to the same rules as other users and wants feedback on what kind of enforcement they think would be appropriate when a world leader violates engagement rules.
Republican lawmakers have criticized Twitter in recent months for its content moderation policies. In congressional hearings Senators Roger Wicker, Ted Cruz, and Lindsey Graham alleged that Twitter’s content moderation practices unfairly silence conservative voices on the platform.
“Your platform allows foreign dictators to post propaganda typically without restriction, yet you routinely restrict the president of the United States,” Wicker told Dorsey during the hearing in October.
So, what’s the plan going forward and how can you make sure your voice is heard?

Australia has had a rough time over the last few years dealing with everything from insane wildfires to the current mouse plague.
Now it is praying for another – an almighty flood to drown the mice in their burrows and cleanse the blighted land of the rodents. Or some very heavy rain, at least.
Locals say they started noticing the swarms up north in October and the wave of rodents has been spreading south ever since, growing to biblical proportions.
Dozens of mayors have called on the government to declare an official plague and to help residents, citing that the problem is worse than the 1984 mice plague.
What’s causing this huge influx of rodents?
