Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had a private meeting with Border Patrol agents in Texas. In leaked audio, Mayorkas said that the border crisis is “unsustainable” and “we’re going to lose” if “borders are the first line of defense.”
This is in stark contrast to the comparative down-playing that the Biden administration has been doing when it comes to the border. Although the numbers and photographs give Americans an inkling of what’s happening at the buckling border, Biden and Harris have been relatively tight-lipped.
