“Mars or Bust” taking precedence? Astronauts won’t be going back to the moon yet

Aw, dang. According to NASA’s Inspector General, its target of landing humans on the moon by 2024 as part of its Artemis program is “not feasible.”

…But not impossible! Just kidding, everyone’s moon dreams have been crushed into moon dust. NASA’s schedule has been slammed by a 20-month delay due to the pandemic, lack of funding, technical difficulties, and more. Basically, it sounds like everything that could go wrong did.

In the meantime, we can still ooh and aah over pictures sent from Mars while NASA works this out. And there could still be a glimmer of hope: ultimate space nerd and billionaire Elon Musk isn’t ready to give up on the moon mission just yet.
