Michael Ballack, who was one of the best goal scorers on the German national team, just lost his 18-year-old son, Emilio, in a tragic accident, authorities say.
Emilio Ballack had been in Portugal, vacationing along the Troia Peninsula, when the incident occurred not far from a home his father owned.
He apparently was in a quad-bike crash around 2 a.m. yesterday.
Emilio had two brothers.
“Oh my, the devastating news about the passing of Michael Ballack’s son has just reached me. No words, so so sad and painful, thoughts to Michael and all his family and friends,” one blogger said.
