Did this man decapitate someone and play soccer with the severed head?

A 25-year-old New Mexico man is accused of stabbing and decapitating 51-year-old James Garcia. Joel Arciniega-Saenz said he even “played soccer” with Garcia’s severed head before he was arrested, kicking it at 14 cars.

Arciniega-Saenz apparently was covered in blood when police apprehended him, and he claimed that Garcia had raped his wife several years ago.

But this is not the first time that Arciniega-Saenz has been in trouble with the law. He was arrested in connection to a 2017 murder, and for vandalizing a coffee shop in May. But he was ultimately released both times.

According to the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office: “Our office has diligently argued to keep this guy in jail on the most recent charges… but [District Court Judge Kent Wingenroth] ‘didn’t find him dangerous’ and released him on a $2,000 bond.”

What happens next for Arciniega-Saenz?
