Could a case of mistaken identity be the reason this mother was shot?

Jacqueline Flores, a California mother, has died after being shot in front of her six-year-old daughter. Flores and her daughter were parked in Fresno on July 27 when the vehicle was fired upon. Flores’ daughter was in the backseat when her mother was shot in the head.

“Fortunately, the child was not injured, but a bullet did enter the rear window where the child was seated,” police said in the release. Officers and emergency officials performed lifesaving efforts at the scene, and Flores was transferred to a local hospital where she was listed in grave condition. Unfortunately, she died three days later.

Police believe that Flores was not the intended target. However, authorities are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the shooting.
