The third-longest-standing member of the Rolling Stones has died to
day. He was 80 years old. Drummer Charlie Watts passed away in London with family by his side, his spokesperson said. Although his specific cause of death has not yet been shared, he did announce a “health issue” that would have prevented him from going on tour with the Stones this year.
Apparently Watts also headed a jazz band, in a nod to his first love. Watts had garnered acclaim around the world as he helped rocket the Stones to international fame. His tenure with the band lasted nearly 60 years.
